Here are the three resolutions by which I live my life:

  1. I will never allow my motivations to separate me from the natural world or deny reality, this often means seeking out the intentional sufferings of G.I Gurdjieff meaning an active seeking to experience consequences of actions
  2. I will work to build community in the relationships I am fortunate to experience and in the places I am fortunate to exist in, valuing the journey more than the end state
  3. I will speak in a spiritual manner towards all people while embracing the emergent properties of life within matter, raising the level of personal poetry in myself and in others

“The wandering of initiates did not differ from ordinary travels for study except that their itinerary, though apparently haphazard, rigorously coincided with the most secret aspirations and gifts of the adept.” – O.V. de L. Milosz

A Cree Native American storyteller and teacher told me: “According to my tradition, from the beginning of creation, every morning, when the sun comes up, we are each given four tasks by our Creator for that day. First, I must learn at least one meaningful thing today. Second, I must teach at least one meaningful thing to another person. Third, I must do something for some other person, and it will be best if that person does not even realize that I have done something for them. And fourth, I must treat all living things with respect. This spreads these things throughout the world.” (Thom Hartmann, Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight p.242)
