If you want to carry a pistol legally as your concealed weapon permit allows you can't on city transportation. There are far more things than free parking that make public transportation not a great option. Also, the bus doesn't start until 6am. What if you like going downtown for a workout before work, or just to get a jump on the day? Want to travel to school after work, get ready for a real bust on the schedule as you may never get to or home from school. The train seems great so far, but maybe its only for the 1% left. I just can't afford to move to fit into the city's public transportation system. I can afford a car, gas, and probably parking too if I had to. An hour to go 27 minutes from home? That's a tough sell.
